South of England Showground, Ardingly, West Sussex

The South of England Agricultural Society is delighted to announce that its ever-popular Winter Fair will return to the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex, on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th November 2020.

The Society and it’s Showground have been deemed ‘Good to Go’ by Visit England and so the weekend event, will run from 9 am – 5 pm on 5th and 9 am – 4 pm on 6th November all within government guidelines to ensure the safety of all visitors. With this in mind, certain elements of the Winter Fair will vary to adhere to Covid-19 safety measures. However, firm favourites remain, and the event will offer the perfect opportunity to get the Christmas preparations sorted whilst enjoying a festive family day out.

Visitors can shop till they drop with a plethora of artisan goodies from local, independent traders. For food and drink lovers, there’s mouth-watering gin liqueurs, homemade jams and chutneys, gourmet pies, cheeses, wines and handmade Christmas puddings and chocolates.

For those looking for unique gifts and stocking fillers there’s everything from wooden toys, artwork, jewellery, lovingly produced leather and cashmere fashion, to natural soap, grooming gift sets, stunning home accessories, Christmas decorations and more.

It’s not just about the shopping though; families are sure to enjoy the live music, festive entertainment, and of course the traditional funfair.

Corrie Ince, Show Director at The South of England Agricultural Society, commented:

“The Winter Fair is a great opportunity for us to showcase wonderful regional artisan producers, and in turn offers our visitors a unique shopping experience where they can purchase gifts, home decorations, seasonal food and drink, and of course treats for themselves you wouldn’t find on the high streets.

“It’s been a tough year for all, and we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone to the showground. We hope that families come along and enjoy a wonderfully festive day out together, all in the knowledge that they are helping the Society as a charity. Every ticket to the event we sell really does make a difference in helping us continue to showcase the countryside and it’s produce to the public. As well as support those involved in agriculture and other related land-based industries, from inspiring schoolchildren to learn about the land, and offering travel bursaries for people working in the farming sector, to helping with funding towards agricultural research and projects.”
