Council’s Focus On Age-friendly Employment

Are you set to search for a new job in 2020? The new year often brings with it a desire for many to take their career in a new direction, and in the autumn, mature workers’ experience and knowledge which can help push the West Sussex economy forward was highlighted at a business conference.

The Manor Royal People Conference in Crawley saw an influential audience of around 120 guests –including senior business representatives, human resources and personnel managers and business owners with the hope that that the conference would prompt conversations about recruitment.

It is believed that 43.1% of the West Sussex population is aged 50 or older, nationally the figure is 37.4%, with this predicted to increase by 15% in a decade. As a result, West Sussex County Council plans to ensure the area is prosperous and businesses benefit from the abilities of older workers.
