The Hawth Crawley Presents Annie

Direct from London’s West End, smash-hit production, Annie comes to The Hawth Crawley next month from Tuesday, October 22 to Saturday, October 26. Sitcom favourite, Lesley Joseph is joined by Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks, Richard Meek as Rooster, Jenny Gayner as Lily, and Carolyn Maitland as Grace Farrell. The title role of much-loved Annie is shared by Faye Katsande, Ava Smith and Freya Yates, who will be joined by three teams of performers who play the girls in Miss Hannigan’s orphanage in 1930s New York against the backdrop of the Great Depression.

Set in the heart of the Big Apple, brave Annie is forced to live a life of misery at matron Miss Hannigan’s orphanage, who seemingly hates children, but is fond of alcoholic drinks, before Annie’s luck changes dramatically and she is chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, whilst Miss Hannigan has other ideas, and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family.

The show opened in Broadway in 1977 and went on to run for nearly six years, The New York Times estimates Annie is produced between 700 and 900 times in the US each year alone boasts an award-winning book and score, including the unforgettable songs, It’s The Hard Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You, and Tomorrow – guaranteed crowd pleasure in theatres the world over!
