Town’s Santander Branch To Close Its Doors

It will be all change this month as Reigate’s Santander branch will close its doors for the final time on Thursday, June 13 as part of the bank’s plan of closing around 140 branches across the country.

Santander, which is part of the Spanish banking group, Banco Santander, says that it will retain a nationwide network of 614 branches following the proposed changes to branches for customers.

The Reigate branch will close alongside nine further Santander branches across the county of Surrey, the closest operating branch after Reigate’s closure will be in Redhill on the town’s London Road.

Susan Allen, head of retail and business banking, said: “The way our customers are choosing to bank with us has changed dramatically in recent years. As a result, we have had to take some very difficult decisions over our less visited branches, and those where we have other branches in close proximity.”
