Tamil Learning Centre – Crawley

Tamil Learning Centre Crawley is an educational centre based in Hazelwick School in Three Bridges. It was established in October of 2006 and the centre runs on Saturdays from 1-4pm teaching children the Tamil language and its rich history. Tamil is one of the ancient, unique and classical languages.

They pride themselves in teaching such a classical language in our school, across different levels from ages 3-17 where they can join in the year group suitable for their age whether it is Nursery or Year 12. They are taught by kind and welcoming volunteers. Also, the centre acts as an exam centre for the Tamil exams.

The Tamil Learning Centre’s purpose is to enlighten the Tamil language, art, culture, games and morals for Tamil speaking people and all others, who are willing to be motivated and close to the Crawley neighbourhood. In addition to teaching the Tamil morals, we help the people affected by war and natural calamities around the world.

The students are not only taught the Tamil language and its history, but they are able to partake in multiple activities after they have finished their learning or before they start. Some activities include Coding club, Miruthangam (a traditional drum) lessons, Keyboard lessons, Football and Badminton. These activities are not only open to children but for everybody in the community.
have recently launched a new branch named The Senior Citizens Activity Club. On the second Sunday of every month, elders from all over the community get together in Northgate Community Centre.

At Tamil Learning Centre, they have many annual events such as Cultural Kitchen, Sports Day, Aadi Pirappu, Vaani Vizha and Pongal.
