Sussex To Open Season Against Leicestershire
Sussex County Cricket Club will open its Specsavers County Championship season with a match against Leicestershire on Friday, April 5 at The 1st Central County Ground in Hove.
In the 10-team championship second-division each club has 14 matches, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Leicestershire and Glamorgan are the teams that Sussex will play only once.
Gloucestershire will be the visitors for both of the out-ground fixtures in 2019, the county is the opposition for a one-day match at The Saffrons in Eastbourne on Sunday, May 5.
The West Country county will return for a County Championship fixture in mid-June in Arundel, Arundel will also host a tour match between Sussex and Australia A in July.
In the limited overs format of the game, Sussex Sharks will host local border rivals Surrey on Friday, April 19 in the country’s opening Royal London One-Day Cup fixture.
Somerset and Glamorgan are the other Royal London One-Day Cup visitors to The 1st Central County Ground in the group stages of the 50-over competition.
