Surrey Club For Young People Celebrates Boxing Achievements

The achievements of volunteers and young boxers from across Surrey’s youth and boxing
clubs were celebrated with the presentation of special awards from Surrey Clubs for Young People (SCYP).

Clubs whose work in communities provides activities for young people were honoured with awards including long service and special contribution, won by Chris Davies and Annie Cox respectively.

Young Boxers from across the county received their awards amongst cheers from family and the
High Sheriff of Surrey, Jim Glover OBE spoke about how boxing can transform young people’s lives.

Tony Willis, chairperson of SCYP, said: “We are facing a huge amount of work this year. We are independently funded and if you think you know anybody that can help please put them in touch.”
