St Alban’s Church Is Holding Their 2nd Christmas Tree Festival

Following the success of last year’s experimental Christmas Tree Festival, St Alban’s Church in Gossops Green are once again aiming to fill the church with beautifully decorated trees

The trees, all decorated by local schools, pre-schools clubs and groups. This year the Christmas Tree Festival will take place on Friday 9th December 3:00 pm-7:00 pm and Saturday 10th December 11:00 am-5:00 pm.

This year the theme will be ‘Celebrations’ as the Parish of Gossops Green and Bewbush is celebrating its Diamond 60th anniversary. Each group is invited to decorate their tree in this theme whilst also reflecting the nature/activities of their own group.

Last year the church was lit up by 22 trees and this year they hope to pack even more in! It should be a magical sight!

Like all of us the church is really struggling with costs, especially the cost of heating the large building. Funds raised will go towards a new, more cost-effective heating system and to making the much-needed repairs to the iconic bell tower.

There will be plenty of stalls including refreshments, Christmas crafts and gifts, cakes and grand draw tickets. Admission will be on the door and is at a cost of £2 for adults and £1 children under 12.

On the Saturday evening it is also hoped to hold a Christmas concert amongst the trees, details of this TBC.
