Prestigious Award For East Grinstead Charity

CARE in East Grinstead & Lingfield has been awarded a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service which is the highest honour a voluntary group can receive, equivalent to the MBE, and is given for exceptional work done by volunteer groups.

Founded in 1988 by local churches, the almost entirely self-funded charity, CARE, relies on donations from clients to meet its overheads as part of its important outreach service to the elderly and disabled in the East Grinstead and Lingfield community.

CARE Chairman Peter Burton said: “This award is a tremendous achievement, particularly for a small charity like ours, and could not have been earned without the hard work, dedication
and positive attitude of all our volunteers.”
