CLOSED – Lindfield Author and Daughter have first Children’s Book Published

After years in the making, Father-daughter duo, Chris and Ashleigh Best are delighted to announce the publication of their first children’s book, ‘Giganta Moles – A New Beginning’, produced earlier this year.

The first in the four-part series, ‘Giganta Moles – A New Beginning’, derived from the long weekend journeys shared between Chris and Ashleigh when Chris would drive her home after their weekends spent together.

Like every other time, the two passed a field with a large pile of soil situated within their view, Chris asked Ashleigh, when she was just 8 years old, what she thought had created the mound of dirt. After some serious thought, she replied, ‘’Giganta Moles’’. From there on, these somewhat mythical creatures were born and subsequently over the following months and then years, the adventures of these Giganta Moles were created.

Chris promised that one day he would write down the story of the Giganta Moles and that Ashleigh (who loved to draw) would create the illustrations. It was while Ashleigh was travelling for a year in Australia, that Chris started penning the tale and, on her return, he presented her with the first draft.

‘Giganta Moles – A New Beginning’ is a charming, heart-warming story of adventure and the possibilities for harmony and cooperation between animals and humans. The book is aimed at children of primary school age, in the 7- 9-year-old group generally, however it is a wonderfully easy read for parents and grandparents to read to younger children with beautiful illustrations dotted through the book.
