Hot Foot It To Horsham For St Catherine’s Hospice

St Catherine’s Hospice is getting ready to heat up Horsham with its second charity firewalk, following up on the success of the 2018 walk in Crawley. Do you think that you can stand the heat? The charity is looking for brave souls to bare their soles and face the fierce flames to raise funds for terminally ill people in their community across Sussex and Surrey.

Do you dare to bare your feet when the heat is on? St Catherine’s Hospice is looking for 100 or more fearless fundraisers to put their bravery to the test and walk barefoot across 15 feet of red hot embers on Friday, March 13 at 7.00pm, in the Carfax. Walkers will be in safe hands as the event is held in partnership with UK Firewalk, with its expert support team sharing the secrets of successful firewalking with everyone who takes part before they face the flames, and possibly their fears.

Alongside the firewalk, there is also a Lego brick walk for younger fundraisers who are aged 18 or younger who are keen to prove they are not bricking it and tackle their own challenge to raise much-needed money for their local hospice and all of the people it supports. Anyone who has stepped on a stray Lego brick before might argue that this challenge takes more guts than the much famed firewalk itself! However, once again, full support will be on offer for those taking part.

Arron Trott, events fundraiser at St Catherine’s Hospice, says: “We’re really excited to bring such a great challenge to Horsham. We hope lots of you will brave our first Horsham Firewalk or Lego walk and help us make the night a sizzling success! It’s a brilliant thing to be able to say you’ve hot footed across fire for your local hospice, and we can’t wait to celebrate with all our amazing firewalkers.’

“Your efforts have never been more important because at the moment we can only care for one in three local people who need hospice care. But in the future, we want to be there for everyone facing death and bereavement. This is only going to be possible with your support” Aaron adds about the fundraiser which hopes to bring more and more fundraisers to the cause of St Catherine’s Hospice.

The Heat Is On!

Fire up and register, it is £25 to register, and to take part you will also need to raise at
least £150 in sponsorship. Registration for the under 18’s Lego walk is £10 and brave
brick walkers are asked to try and raise £50 each. To sign up online, visit: www.stch.org.uk/firewalk, call St Catherine’s events team on: 01293 447355,
