Changes To Wealden’s Garden Waste Collections

Is your garden waste collected by Wealden District Council (WDC)? If so, next month sees charges introduced for garden waste collections when a new waste contract for refuse and recycling starts.

Wealden residents who want to continue to have a garden waste collection will pay for it from Monday, July, 1, bringing WDC in line with the other councils in East Sussex which already charge for this service.

Councillor Roy Galley, cabinet member for waste management at WDC, said: “Our commitment to garden waste recycling has helped Wealden achieve its strong recycling record, with recycling rates above 50%. Like our residents we are proud of this achievement. We hope we will be able to continue.”
