Blue Planet II Live In Concert

Next month, Blue Planet II Live In Concert will tour the UK and Ireland in a special show with a live accompaniment by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Matthew Freeman and featuring legendary music by Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea and David Fleming for Bleeding Fingers Music.

Following the incredible success of the BAFTA award-winning BBC One television series Blue Planet II, presented by Sir David Attenborough, BBC Studios, and FKP Scorpio are presenting a 13-date live tour, which will bring the wonders and mysteries of the planet’s oceans and wildlife to the UK arena stage.

Blue Planet II – Live In Concert will present stunning visuals from the television series, highlighting the incredible natural wonders, projected on a state of the art 4K Ultra HD
LED screen. Joined by an original music score
by Bleeding Fingers Music, the concert will
be performed by a full symphony orchestra.

The journey began 20 years-ago when a
team of filmmakers from the BBC’s Natural History Unit set out to make a television
series. Broadcast in 2001, the popular and
multi award-winning The Blue Planet, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, cemented the unit’s peerless reputation for underwater filming. 

Now, a generation later, the Natural History Unit has once again dived deep into the blue 

underworld, from icy polar seas to pulsating  coral reefs, from the luminous deep sea to enormous kelp forests, Blue Planet II – Live
In Concert is a simply breath-taking and epic show that audiences will never forget.

The concert will feature truly striking visuals from the show including the now infamous Tusk fish, the Crab and Eel rock pool chase and the folklore-turned-reality, Sea Lion tuna hunt. The Blue Planet II television show was the most watched TV programme of 2017 in the UK.

TV personality, Anita Rani, presenter of BBC One series Countryfile, and regular guest on the BBC’s One Show. Anita has also presented programmes including Bollywood: The World’s Biggest Film Industry and Watchdog will be the host of the show. Speaking about her appointment, she says: “I am honoured to have the role of host on the Blue Planet II Live In Concert arena tour. The TV series was such a fantastic and enlightening show and has really empowered society to view our oceans and environment with a great deal more care. I can’t wait to stand on stage with an 80-piece orchestra and screen showing some of that incredible Blue Planet II footage, it should be an amazing experience!”
