If you are interested in wildlife and enjoy working with children, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! Sussex Wildlife Trust is looking for volunteers to lend a helping hand with children visiting its outdoor education centres at Woods Mill nature reserve near Henfield, and Tilgate Park near Crawley.  If you are over 16 and keen to share your enjoyment of wildlife with others then why not consider joining the team?

You don’t need to be an expert, but a little knowledge is useful and enthusiasm essential. Most of your time will be spent outside helping with activities such as our ‘eye spy’ lake walk, games in the alder grove, pond dipping or bug hunting.  Activities are linked to the national curriculum for children aged 4 – 11 years, and also include woodland studies and bushcraft skills.

There are also opportunities to get involved as a volunteer with our very popular Nature Tots groups, children’s holiday clubs and family events.

Education volunteering is subject to two satisfactory references and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, which will be arranged for you if you decide to become a regular volunteer.
