Carers Support West Sussex Announces New Chair

Carers Support West Sussex has appointed Robert Adams as its new chairman of the board of trustees succeeding Alan Botterill who has served as interim chairperson for 20 months.

The West Sussex charity supports nearly 24,000 carers in West Sussex who find themselves as unpaid carers for family, friends and children living with a range of life limiting conditions.

It provides services including a dedicated carer response line open six days a week, more than 50 monthly carer groups, a carer learning and wellbeing programme and a carer equipment service.

Robert worked in maritime operations, travel and marketing as well as being a practice director of a sizeable law firm, says of the charity: “My first contact with the charity was as someone needing help in July 2017, whilst being a full-time carer for my wife.

A year later I volunteered my business knowledge and charity management expertise and I have been on the board as a trustee ever since.”
