Athletics Legend Comes To Sussex

Athletics Legend Comes To Sussex

Known for his Olympic heroics and larger-than-life personality, Kriss Akabusi MBE, is set to take to the stage to host the glitzy and spectacular Sussex Sports Awards 2019 in Brighton this month.

The black-tie event, hosted by Active Sussex, now in its 17th year, will be held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole on Friday, November 22 and will celebrate all things sport in the county of Sussex.

Kriss, who will host with BBC radio presenter Danny Pike, rose to fame on the athletics track, where his greatest individual triumph was winning gold at the 1990 European Championships.

Following retirement, Kriss has become a much-loved television presenter, working on several shows including Record Breakers and The Big Breakfast and regularly appeared as a panelist on quiz shows.

Sadie Mason MBE, Active Sussex CEO, says of the awards celebrating Sussex: “The awards are really important to help us spread the word about the amazing sporting community on our doorsteps.”
