Do you enjoy getting out and about? Do you enjoy meeting new people? If so, there is a group in Horley which is always open to new members who enjoy walking and talking.

Horley Walkie Talkies started life last year when founder Julie Ordish came up with the idea between Christmas and new year when she wanted to get fit and lose weight.

Julie posted her aspirations on social media and a first walk took place with eight attendees, she
then collaborated with another Horley resident, Yvonne Kinasz to create the Facebook page.

Today, the group’s page boasts more than 900 members who add walks at a time and pace that suits them, and then other members join by going to the events tab and RSVP.

Julie says: “I would really love to reach more people, those perhaps that do not use Facebook or social media. Most of the conversations I have had are from locals looking to meet new people, maybe they are new within the area, do not have many friends or family living nearby.”
