Put Your Best Foot Forward For Lingfield Charity

Whether it will be the first outing for your trainers, or they have pounded many miles, there are distances to suit all ages and abilities in the charity’s StarRun 4 Young Epilepsy in Surrey. The 0.5k fun run route is a wheelchair-friendly option, while the 5km and 10km trails are timed for those aiming for personal bests – all routes can be run or walked so there is no excuse to stay on the sofa.

The StarRun 4 Young Epilepsy will be held on Sunday, October 27 at the charity’s headquarters on St Piers Lane in Lingfield which is home to St Piers School and College. The school and college provide specialised education for children and young people with neurological conditions, acquired brain injury and learning disabilities including autism, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Speaking about the event, which features start times of 9am for the 0.5k route and 9.30am for the 5k and 10k, Sophie Stevens, from Young Epilepsy said “We’re so excited about this brand new event which really is going to be fun for all the family. As well as the different runs, there will be family-friendly entertainment, and food and refreshments available.

“We’re really putting the emphasis on finding the fun in the run, and are working to make the whole event accessible and enjoyable for all. Everyone who takes part will receive a bespoke StarRun medal, showing that they have helped play their part in enabling young people with epilepsy to live life to the fullest” Sophie added about the new fundraiser.

No Tricks Just Treats!

As well as the StarRun, Young Epilepsy is running a fun, spooky Halloween-themed competition as the world gets ready for all things ghosts and ghouls. Get creative by carving a pumpkin, share an image of it on social media, and tag  #CarveForYE for your chance to win a prize.
