Funding Boost For Cat’s Protection’s Paws Project

Cats Protection’s Paws Protect Project which supports victims of domestic abuse has received a grant of more then £15,000 from the Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner’s Safe Space Sussex Funding Network.

The volunteer-led project which expanded into Sussex last year offers a free cat-fostering service for victims who are escaping abusive relationships until they are resettled into a new and secure home.

Cats Protection’s Paws Protect project manager, Beverley Russell said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this grant from the Safe Space Funding Network, which will fund our Paws Protect work.”

The Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner receives a grant from the Ministry of Justice for local commissioning of victims’ support services which is allocated to good causes which help victims.

Speaking about the grant, Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne, says: “Cats Protection’s Paw Protect service is a great example of an innovative local project that aims to help victims.”
