Dunottar Students’ Performance Wows Crowd At Dorking Halls
During the spring term, students from Dunottar School in Reigate performed The Producers to an appreciative audience of parents, pupils, staff and members of the public at a packed Dorking Halls.
Directed by Tarani Jago and musical director Emily Pettet, with choreography by Rosie Ellis, students from the school’s Years 7 – 12 cohorts performed The Producers, based on the musical by Mel Brooks.
Featuring a cast of 96, the show was the first time that the school has staged a performance at the Dorking Halls, and the students involved relished the opportunity to perform on a professional stage.
Musical director Emily Pettet said: “To learn how to sing, act and dance requires a huge amount of tenacity, and we feel very lucky to work with such committed and enthusiastic young people.”
Work on a 500-seat assembly hall with state-of-the-art music and drama facilities, is scheduled to start at Dunottar School this term, providing students at the school the facilities required for performing.
