Local Restaurant WINS at National Award Show

Most of you that enjoy Asian cuisine will know of local favourites Tarana (Lingfield and Turners Hill) and Thai Lounge, Lingfield.

On Sunday 2nd October Jahan and the friends and family of Tarana came home with their arms full of awards after winning Regional Restaurant of the Year for Surrey and Regional Restaurant of the year for the South East at the Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards (ARTA)!

The decisions were made and the prizes were given to the restaurants from customer nominations, quality of food, service and value for money. Food hygiene ratings and reviews from TripAdvisor and Google were also taken into account, contributing to the win.

After making it through the first phase, restaurants that made it this far were invited to take part in a cook-off competition. The score included various factors including flavour, appearance, texture, hygiene, and aroma.

After fighting through the pandemic and coming out the other side, small local businesses have really suffered these last couple of years, so it’s amazing to see a local favourite completely thrive in their environment.

A massive congratulations to Jahan and the teams on your wins, you truly deserve it!
