Over the winter of 2025-26, we asked local residents across the RH postcode how they feel about Gatwick’s second runway expansion. More than 500 people took the time to share their perspectives.

This report presents a snapshot of views from respondents across our seven distribution areas. It covers overall sentiment, priorities, and concerns about noise, jobs, infrastructure, and property values.

Some key findings:

• 52% support the expansion, 38% oppose, 10% neutral/unsure
• 72% believe local infrastructure cannot handle expansion without significant investment
• Environmental concerns (noise, air quality, traffic) were frequently mentioned as top priorities
• Views varied by area, with division evident across all locations
