Things To Tick Off Your Bucket List This Summer

How many times have you said “we’ll do that, or go there in the summer?” If you’re anything like me you’ll have spent many a winter and spring day wishing for the warm weather to arrive.

However, summer days seem to pass by in the blink of an eye and before you know it, it’s autumn again and you’ve ticked almost nothing off your summer wishe list. Sound familiar?

Let’s not let it happen this summer. Instead, hold on to those summer ideas and get them pencilled in and enjoy them! Here’s a few bucket list ideas to inspire you:

A Traditional Picnic

Ah, the quintessential English picnic – is there anything more summery than to get out and eat in the great outdoors? Whether you go all out with a tartan rug, wicker hamper, strawberries and fizz or simply decide to dine alfresco rather than aldesko during your lunch break, a summer picnic is an easy thing to accomplish. Or it should be, providing the great British weather is on our side!

Host a Family BBQ

The delicious waft of a BBQ filling the warm air really epitomises summer, just as much as the smell of suntan cream and freshly cut grass. As does getting everybody together to eat, drink and be merry, for no other reason apart from the fact it’s summer! This year, invite the family over, dust the BBQ off and get making some Pimms for a magical evening spent with your nearest and dearest.

Impromptu Jet-away

No plans for a trip away yet but have time when you could jet-off? A weekend in Barcelona, a late deal to a gorgeous Greek island or fly up to Edinburgh for a few days! Not only is getting away from it all good for focus, it also helps you to connect with your loved ones and think more creatively too. With Gatwick on our doorsteps, jetting away couldn’t be simpler! Grab that passport and go!

Beach Getaway

Don’t want to travel too far? Living where we do, we’re spoilt for choice for beautiful beaches! In Sussex alone, there’s plenty of sandy or stony spots to spend a sunny summer’s day on. Head for busy, bustling Brighton for some seaside nostalgia, laid-back West Wittering or to the picturesque Camber Sands. Sussex’s coastal resorts are also known to be the sunniest places throughout the UK.
